culture of agriculture

february 2016

birch + barley

in celebration of female farming, growing good food and feeding our communities, please join us in conversation with dc's leading lady farmers on the culture of agriculture

anita adalja - arcadia center for sustainable agriculture
nadia mercer - washington youth garden
mo moutoux - moutoux orchards

we live in an ecological rift - these days it's hard to imagine the soil that grew and the effort required to create our perfectly packaged grocery store produce. what's it like to be a female in the fields? what's it like to actually grow good food on a daily basis? what's it like to farm in or near a big city? why be a farmer?

in partnership with the arcadia center for food and sustainable agriculture and the neighborhood restaurant group we are pleased to host this event at birch & barley
